Paralympic two time Gold Medal Winner turned motivational speaker, Richard Whitehead MBE was the guest of honour at the 2024 Blueprint Operations (BPO) Team Conference which was held at the Belton Wood Hotel and Spa in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
Attended by the entire BPO team, the Conference served as an opportunity to share the strategy and objectives for the year ahead as well as provide an update on key internal and external issues including the Product Pipeline, Technical Developments, Finance and Sales as well as the political process/timetable in relation to the White Paper on gambling reform.
BPO Managing Director Andy Tipple, who hosted the Conference said: “First of all it was both humbling and inspirational to have Richard Whitehead MBE address the team. Richard’s story is to use his own words about living ‘a life without limits’.
“Born and raised in Nottingham with a double through-knee congenital amputation, he developed a passion for sport at an early age and in 2004 signed up for the New York Marathon.
“He was subsequently selected for the ParalympicsGB team as a sledge hockey player at the 2006 Winter Paralympic Games in Turin and in 2012 competed in the T42 200 metre category as part of the ParalmypicsGB team, winning Gold – an achievement which he repeated four years later at Rio 2016.
“In an unbelievable career as an elite athlete he completed 40 marathons in 40 days running from John O’Groats to Land’s End raising money for the Sarcoma UK and Scope charities.”
Andy Tipple continued: “The core messages that I wanted the team to take from Richard’s lived experience is that providing you have self-belief and a positive mindset anything is possible.
“The BPO philosophy is to set new industry standards across all aspects of the business services that we provide our customers whether that’s game design, technical insight, after sales support or logistics.
“This commitment and dedication sit at the heart of so many stand-out features of our service not least BPO’s pledge to deliver machines within an industry best 22-days of an order being placed.
